I’m excited to report that we had a successful launch of the Northern Women’s Infrastructure Network (WIN) UK! The WIN is a global network whose purpose is to grow the visibility of women and to provide a networking and support group for women in the infrastructure sector.
On 24 January, over 50 men and women working in the transportation, utilities, communications, government and environmental sectors across the North of England, attended the launch event which was hosted by the Nuclear AMRC and sponsored by Copperleaf and Walker Morris LLP.
Victoria Bradley, co-founder of the Northern WIN UK and Director of Energy, Infrastructure & Government at Walker Morris LLP, welcomed all attendees and officially kicked off the day which included networking, insightful round table discussions, and some excellent talks such as:
- The Nuclear Sector Deal & Increasing Diversity — Fiona Rayment, Chair, Nuclear Skills Strategy Group
- Future Innovations: New Technologies & Techniques — Emma Kelly, Programme Director, Nuclear AMRC Midlands
- Workshop: How Can I Increase Gender Diversity Within My Organisation — co-founders of the Northern WIN UK: Claire Spencer, Strategic Planning Lead at NGN, and Marie Hemingway, Copperleaf Senior Consultant
As the Northern WIN UK grows, we encourage more women to join! Having representation from a wide cross-section of the infrastructure community allows for valuable discussion, a stronger community, and the continual growth of the impact women can make within the industry.
