Feature Article: Copperleaf Wins Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers Award

Every Voice Matters at Copperleaf Technologies

Every Voice Matters | Copperleaf TechnologiesMediacorp released the winners of their fourth annual Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers competition, celebrating small and medium businesses with forward-thinking human resources policies.

The special magazine feature in The Globe and Mail showcases how the 100 honorees are building highly engaged, collaborative, and fun workplaces. Employers were evaluated by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same criteria as the national competition:

  • Physical Workplace
  • Work Atmosphere & Social
  • Health, Financial & Family Benefits
  • Vacation & Time Off
  • Employee Communications
  • Performance Management
  • Training & Skills Development
  • Community Involvement

This is Copperleaf’s first time receiving this award. CEO Judi Hess said:

“Our culture inspires us to constantly challenge each other and deliver exceptional value to our global clients every day. The creativity, passion, and dedication of our amazing team have been vital to our rapid growth and success.”

Copperleaf’s uniquely democratic, non-hierarchical culture means that employees are empowered to “deliver exceptional value” and “provide extraordinary experiences” to customers and each other. Barry Quart, VP Marketing commented:

“Judi doesn’t just sit in an ivory tower somewhere. She’s at the table having lunch with everybody and picking their brains about what’s new in the product and what they’re working on. So there’s this constant effort to integrate all the levels of the organization. No one’s opinion is more important than anybody else’s.”

That aspect of the culture is reinforced at every level, as explained by Gabriel Lessard-Kragen, a Project Manger on the Customer Experience (CX) team:

“Every single decision that we make, I’m asked for input. It makes you feel like everyone’s in it together.”

At Copperleaf, we’re always looking to cultivate a culture of innovation and collaboration and foster an open, empowering environment for all those we work with!
