Feature Article by Chuck Meyer: Using Asset Management to Drive Effective, Operational Change
In the latest issue of Western Energy magazine, WEI President Chuck Meyer sheds light on the evolution of asset management in his “Letter from the President“. He concludes:
“Today, asset management takes a far more inclusive and positive approach because it examines extracting value, as opposed to just looking at risk.”
Meyer says improved asset management practices based on ISO 55000 can help electric and natural gas utilities drive organizational change and more efficient operations, while maximizing value-for-money.
To support this point, he references a case study that describes the outcomes Hydro Ottawa achieved from implementing the Copperleaf C55 Asset Investment Planning and Management solution. Download the Hydro Ottawa case study to learn more about the process they went through to align their investment decision-making processes with the ISO 55000 standard.
