After a well-deserved break, The Institute of Asset Management (IAM) webinars are back and open to all! Jointly organized by the USA and Canada chapters, these webinars are moderated by Professor Tom Smith of the University of Wisconsin and myself. They cover topics related to the IAM’s 39 core asset management subjects and ISO 55000.

ISO TC Committee Members Peter Way from Australia and Ryen Tarbet from the US discuss the newly revised ISO TC 251 Technical Paper on “Improving Alignment between Technical and Financial Management within Organizations.” Peter is the former Director of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australia, which publishes the well-recognized International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM), and Ryen is an expert on municipal finance and asset management and the Head of the US Delegation to ISO TC251.

Asset Management vs Management of Assets
Tuesday, May 22nd, 10:00AM PDT

IAM CEO David McKeown and ISO TC Committee Member and Netherlands Chapter leader Hjalmar Boon discuss the ISO/TC 251 Technical Paper on “Managing Assets in the context of Asset Management.”  This paper has provided an important framework for contemporary discussions of asset management and provides a great introduction to those new to the field as well as experienced asset managers.
