A Successful Wrap Up of the 2019 Copperleaf AIPM Summit | Asset Management

The Copperleaf 2019 AIPM Summit was a huge success again this year, attracting a record number of thought leading professionals from around the globe to discuss best practices in Asset Investment Planning & Management (AIPM) and the future direction of Copperleaf’s solutions. Hosted at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, from May 7-9, the event grew by over 25%, highlighting the growth in the Copperleaf Community, and the value our customers get by sharing knowledge, learning from, and networking with their industry peers.

Copperleaf™, together with our customers and partners, led educational sessions and roundtable discussions on a variety of subjects and several case studies including:

  • Enbridge on “Driving an Asset Management Transformation”
  • Anglian Water on “Disrupting the Costing Process”
  • ONE Gas on “Understanding Your Total System Risk”

The Summit was packed with three days of sessions covering a wide variety of strategic and technical topics, including “Linking AIPM and Enterprise-wide Capital Efficiency, “Best Practices in AIPM”, and very detailed sessions on best practices in modeling risk by industry segment.  Customers loved the opportunity to work directly with our Product Design team in an interactive User Experience session and get one-on-one demonstrations of the latest innovations in our products. Based on feedback from last year, we increased our focus on “Segment Summits” where attendees broke out into smaller industry-specific groups to evaluate and discuss common challenges and share best practices among their peers.

The best part of the event for us at Copperleaf is that we get to spend three days with our clients and hear what they have to say. Having this time with customers is invaluable, and receiving their direct input helps us continue to deliver the best possible solutions and customer experience!

Kevin Mancherjee, Manager of Investment Planning & Process, Hydro One, commented:

This is my fourth time attending the Copperleaf AIPM Summit, and every year, I go back to Hydro One with a plan to implement one major process improvement or tool enhancement. It really helps us move our investment planning processes forward and make sure we’re getting the best value out of our investment in C55™. This year, our key takeaway is most likely going to be bringing our assets and asset health data into C55 and leveraging C55 Capture to create the investments with that information.

Next year’s conference will be held from May 5-7, 2020 in Vancouver—stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, to learn more about the Copperleaf Community and the AIPM Summit, check out our video.
