Copperleaf Goes Live at National Grid Electricity Transmission

Vancouver, BC, March 3, 2020—The Copperleaf® Decision Analytics Solution is now live at National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET), owner of the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales. National Grid will rely on Copperleaf for project portfolio optimisation and Asset Investment Planning & Management (AIPM). The two companies also collaborated on the development of a new circuit optimisation capability that will allow National Grid Electricity Transmission to bundle asset interventions and minimise circuit outage requirements.

David Wright, Director of Electricity Transmission at National Grid, said: “We’re really pleased with the optimisation product we’ve developed jointly with Copperleaf. The Copperleaf platform is helping National Grid Electricity Transmission further improve our ability to anticipate and manage asset risks, ensuring we continue to make the right investment decisions across our network.”

“It’s been really exciting to combine the power of the solution’s optimisation platform and Copperleaf’s software development expertise, with the engineering knowledge and prototypes that have been nurtured within National Grid Electricity Transmission over many years,” stated Stefan Sadnicki, Managing Director, Europe for Copperleaf. “We look forward to embedding this new capability into the business to support both the planning and delivery of their RIIO-T2 investment plan.”

“Everyone at Copperleaf is thrilled with the successful go live of Copperleaf at National Grid Electricity Transmission,” added Copperleaf CEO Judi Hess. “The new circuit optimisation capability in particular is a fantastic example of industry-leading asset management decision support, and I can’t wait to see what other business challenges we solve together in the years ahead.”
