CopperLeaf to Deliver Asset Plans & Supporting Technology to Help Optimize the Life Cycle Value FCRPS Generating Stations
Vancouver, BC, December 21, 2006 – CopperLeaf Technologies Inc., a leading provider of Asset Investment Planning (AIP) solutions, today announced that it was selected by the Federal Columbia River Power System (Hydro) to deliver asset plans for its 31 hydro generating stations and the system using CopperLeaf’s flagship product, ESP.
The Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) is a partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA). The FCRPS is mandated to provide low cost, reliable power, and effective resource stewardship to the Pacific Northwest region. To meet this mandate, the FCRPS is committed to maintaining best practices in asset investment planning.
The FCRPS, through the Bonneville Power Administration, has chosen CopperLeaf Technologies to further improve its AIP processes and facilitate the implementation of supporting technology. The FCRPS has a need to develop a multi-year view of its operating, maintenance and capital investment requirements relative to its mandate. This requires the development of Asset Plans for 31 generating stations and a single consolidated view of a system-wide asset plan.
To deliver on these requirements, CopperLeaf and the FCRPS will leverage the analytical capabilities of CopperLeaf’s flagship ESP solution. ESP is an enterprise-wide AIP solution that drives an asset-centric approach to planning and budgeting for asset-intensive organizations. ESP is a multi-year, multi-user web-based solution that allows comprehensive plans to be created and analyzed while avoiding the problems inherent with managing organization-wide spreadsheets models or creating work orders and project IDs for planning. Advanced modelling and decision support analytics allow users to leverage information about their assets, the market, constraints, and business objectives to drive asset performance.
The result for the FCRPS will be better risk management, increased enterprise-wide transparency, improved performance forecasting, enhanced decision making, and optimized performance.
